Best 15 US Roads Challenge *****Rules***** 1. The Best 15 US Roads Challenge is a motorcycle-touring event. A participant must travel the entire distance on a motorcycle, motorcycle with sidecar, or trike. This includes all miles traveled from the participant's residence to the roads, the miles between the roads and the miles to return home. 2. A participant must complete a registration form and pay the associated ride fee. 3. A participant must be a member of the Southern California Motorcycling Association or complete a membership application and pay the membership fee. 4. A participant must complete, sign and have witnessed an AMA Release and Indemnity Form printed in color to clearly show the red watermark and provide it to SCMA with the ride application. 5. Fifteen roads are announced annually as the "collection" for that year. Some roads are retained from year to year. Some roads are dropped and replaced with new roads. All roads must each be traveled their entire distance between the locations listed with the road. 6. Some roads are combined as a single "challenge unit". All roads listed in a challenge unit must be traveled their entire distance and, for the purposes of this event, are considered a single road. 7. A participant may travel the fifteen roads in any sequence and by any route. 8. Participants have two calendar years to start the tour but must complete the tour in a single calendar year. 9. A participant is allowed a single calendar year to complete the tour. Time will be measured according to the gasoline receipts collected on each of the roads. There are no time extensions for any reason, including mechanical failures, accidents, flats, weather or illness. Participants are advised to watch the calendar and plan accordingly. 10. The tour begins on the day that a participant travels and documents the first road. The tour ends on the day that a participant travels and documents the fifteenth road. 11. The tour does not have to be traveled continuously. Breaks in time are allowed, are unlimited and are taken at the discretion of the participant. But all miles traveled to a road and from a road must be on a motorcycle. 12. A participant must mail a completed proof of visit form, a gasoline receipt that clearly shows the date, time and location of the purchase and a photograph to SCMA at the end of the tour but no later than December 15 of the year. All the materials must be assembled in a logbook provided by SCMA. 13. A photo of the participant's motorcycle must be taken for each road in front of a recognizable point-of-interest. Photos must be printed in a 4x6 format. 14. A participant will be declared a finisher after SCMA has received, reviewed and accepted the logbook as sufficient proof of having completed the Challenge. The decision of SCMA is final. 15. The logbook will be returned to the participant along with awards and rider paraphernalia that the SCMA board of directors authorizes for this purpose. 16. Changes to these rules are authorized only by the SCMA board of directors. 17. Copies of the tour registration, SCMA membership application, event rules, AMA release form and contact information are available at SCMA's website found at www.sc-ma.com THE 15 BEST ROADS IN 2012 ENTRY FORM Blake P Anderson Chairman Southern California Motorcycling Association 714) 801-3931 BlakePAnderson@gmail.com www.sc-ma.com Join Us For The Fun of It
