Here's a way to have some riding fun while raising money for an important cause. Purple Rose's First Annual Lupus Awareness Poker Run will leave the Starbucks at 7565 Carson Blvd. in Long Beach from 8:00 to 9:00 AM on Sunday June 5. Cost is $30 for rider and $20 for passenger. You'll get a tee shirt, a route sheet, a BBQ lunch and door prizes. The ride ends in Rialto with a total ride distance of 62 miles.
The mission of the Purple Rose Foundation is to foster advocacy, education, and awareness of lupus, sickle cell, and other autoimmune diseases. It is currently focused on raising money for academic scholarships. More information and online registration can be found at:
