The Three Flags Classic

2024 47th Three Flags Classic

The 2023 Three Flags Classic is in the books and it was a great time to be had by all the participants. Now it is time time to start thinking about 2024.

This will be the 47th running of the Three Flags Classic, this ride is full of history, tradition and most important of all, camaraderie.  You will make friends for life and have stories to tell for a lifetime!  Usually, the 3FC will start somewhere near the US/Mexican border, mostly south of it and then ends somewhere north of the US/Canadian border.  Some years, the ride will start in Canada and end in Mexico. The 2024, 47th running of the Three Flags Classic will start in Canada.

Normally, you can count on 2,100 miles from start to finish starting on the Friday of Labor Day Weekend and then ending on Monday, Labor Day itself.  A finish banquet is held the next night to commemorate successful finishers and to celebrate the rich past of this event.  On “zero” and “five” year anniversaries, the ride is usually extended by a day and roughly 500 miles.

Start and finish points vary by year as does the recommended route.  Depending on the year, 3 to 4 mandatory checkpoints are designated and is required that you check in within the designated times they are open.  So, no lallygagging!  Not too much at least!  The recommended route usually features attractions that the area is known for along with some of the most awesome roads you can find!

Usually, there is a window of time to start the ride.  Not everyone leaves at once or rides together.  You can just ride with your friends or ride by yourself.  All that is required for you to count as a finisher is that you check in at all of the checkpoints within the allotted time that they are open.

Registration this year opened right after the 2023 event closed. Registration is open but the cost has yet to be determined. You can register now and be billed when we know the final event cost.

Throughout the year, there will be updates on ride details so that you can arrive at the start prepared and ready to go.  The day before the start is check in day where you will receive a starters kit including a 3FC Passport which you will use to receive stamps at every checkpoint.

For riders that finish the Three Flags Classic you are AWARDED the coveted finishers BELT BUCKLE and the your Ride PASSPORT is stamped documenting you as a finishers this grand event.

While the Three Flags Classic is not built to be an Iron Butt event it is and can be a most challenging event. You should feel a sense of accomplishment when you complete this event

The underrated parts of participating in the SCMA Three Flags Classic is that you get to ride home and either re-visit  a fun spot you found along the way or just take your time and visit new ones!  If you’re already home after the finish, then you probably had a great ride to the start!  You will meet interesting people from all walks of life riding a variety of motorcycles prepped in different ways!  You will make friends, even if you only see them once a year, guaranteed!

Each running of the 3FC is organized by a SCMA chairperson with an organizing committee that work tirelessly from the end of the previous Three Flags Classic to the end of their’s.

We have tentatively planned a USA West Coast Three Flags Classic with a CANADA start and Mexico Finish for 2024. More exciting details will follow as we get closer.

Other rides that are great to combine with this one while you’re out are:
